The Election Commission of India (ECI) and the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal (CEO WB) have officially published the first set of voter lists as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025. If you live in West Bengal, now is the time to check whether your name appears, download the relevant PDF from your polling-station/booth, and act quickly if your name is missing or details are incorrect.
What Has Been Released Exactly?
Earlier in August 2025, the ECI confirmed publication of the 2002 SIR voter lists for 293 out of 294 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in West Bengal.
As part of the ongoing exercise, data uploads show that around 3.96 crore names have already been matched and uploaded after comparing with the 2002 roll.
The CEO WB website has “Final Roll” links for each polling station (booth) under each AC, where you can download PDF versions of the lists.
How to Download the Voter List PDF
Follow these simple steps to download your polling-station PDF:
- Go to the official site of CEO West Bengal: https://ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in (or the roll procurement page)
- Navigate to the section “Electoral Roll / Final Roll / Voter List 2002 – SIR” or “Roll_PS” for your AC.
- Select your Assembly Constituency (AC) and then your Polling Station (PS/Booth number).
- Click on the relevant “Final Roll” or “Download PDF” link. A PDF will download with voter names, house numbers, serial numbers etc.
- Once downloaded, search within the PDF for your name, your father’s or parent’s name, house number, and polling-station number.
Why This Release Matters
It gives firsthand proof whether your name was included in the reference 2002 voter list and whether you’ve been carried forward.
If you spot errors or missing names, you still have time to object or apply for inclusion before the final roll is published.
This early release also allows citizens to check for duplicate entries, wrong spellings, or wrong booth allocations, and raise issues.
Downloading the list now also enables you to keep a record (serial no., house no., booth) which will be helpful when the final list later publishes.
What to Do If Your Name Is Not on the List
If you checked your polling station PDF and your name (or the name of a family member) is missing or wrongly entered, here are the steps you should take:
- Note details: Record your house number, serial number of the last known entry (if any), booth number, and download the PDF as evidence.
- Meet your Booth Level Officer (BLO): The BLO assigned to your area is part of the SIR drive. Inform them about the missing name.
- Apply using Form 6 (for new inclusion) or Form 8 (for correction) as required. Use the official portal or offline form.
- Upload/Submit Documents: If your name isn’t traceable in the 2002 list, you’ll need to submit valid identity, age and residence proofs. (See prior article for detailed document list.)
- Track your application: Use the portal or the CEO website to monitor the status of your submission.

Pro Tips While Downloading & Checking
- Use Ctrl+F (search) in the PDF to quickly locate your name or your parent’s name.
- Check that your name is spelled correctly, your house number is correct, and your polling station is accurate.
- Keep a digital copy of the downloaded PDF for your records.
- If your data is correct, you still should verify the final roll when it’s published to avoid last-minute surprises.
- Encourage neighbours or family members (especially older folks) to check their names too—they may face bigger trouble if left out.
The release of the voter list PDF is your early window to ensure your democratic voice is secure ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections. Don’t wait until the final roll — download today, verify vigorously, and act fast if you spot any issue.
