The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 is currently underway in West Bengal. This is one of the most important voter verification drives before the 2026 Assembly Elections, launched by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure that every eligible voter’s name is correctly listed.

However, many citizens have already reported a common problem — their names (or family members’ names) are missing from the voter list. If this has happened to you, don’t panic. There are several simple ways to fix it before the final voter roll is published.

How to Check Name on in Voter List

Step 1: Confirm If Your Name Is Really Missing

Before taking any action, double-check your details carefully. Sometimes spelling mistakes or data mismatches make it look like a name is missing when it’s just recorded incorrectly.

How to Check:

  1. Visit the official website: ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in.
  2. Click on “Search in Electoral Roll”.
  3. Enter your EPIC number, or use Name + Father’s Name + District to search.
  4. If you can’t find your entry, try variations of spelling (especially for Bengali names).
  5. If still missing, your name might have been deleted or skipped in the ongoing revision.

Step 2: Check the 2002 Electoral Roll Reference

For SIR 2025, the ECI is using the 2002 voter list as a reference to verify names.
If your or your family’s name existed in that list, the inclusion process becomes easier.

To Check the 2002 List Online:

  1. Go to ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in.
  2. Look for the option “SIR 2002 Electoral Roll”.
  3. Select your district, assembly constituency, and polling station.
  4. Download the PDF and search manually for your name or a family member’s name.

If your old record is found, keep a note of the serial number and house number — it will help the Booth Level Officer (BLO) verify your claim.

Step 3: Contact Your Booth Level Officer (BLO)

Your Booth Level Officer (BLO) is the first point of contact for any voter list correction. They are visiting homes as part of the SIR process between 4 November 2025 and 8 January 2026.

When the BLO visits your home:

If your BLO has already visited your area, you can meet them at the Designated Revision Centre (DRC) in your locality.

Step 4: Apply for Inclusion Using Form 6

If your name is completely missing and not automatically re-included, you must submit Form 6 — the official application for new voter registration.

Ways to Apply:

  1. Offline:
    • Collect Form 6 from your BLO or local Election Office.
    • Fill it up with your details (name, age, address, EPIC number of family member, etc.).
    • Attach self-attested copies of ID and address proof.
    • Submit to your BLO or DRC.
  2. Online:
    • Visit voters.eci.gov.in.
    • Click on “Apply for Voter ID” → Fill Form 6 online.
    • Upload scanned copies of required documents.
    • Keep the reference number for tracking.

Step 5: Track the Status of Your Application

After submission, your application will be verified by officials. You can track your Form 6 status online:

Once approved, your name will appear in the Draft Electoral Roll (9 December 2025) or Final Electoral Roll (7 February 2026).

Step 6: In Case of Objection or Mistake

If you find someone else’s name wrongly included or your name incorrectly printed, you can file:

Submit the relevant form online or at your local election office during the Claims & Objections period (9 December 2025 – 8 January 2026).
