The Central Government has restarted new registrations under the e-Shram Card Scheme, under which eligible workers will receive ₹1000 per month as financial assistance. This scheme is specially designed for laborers, rickshaw pullers, construction workers, domestic helpers, and small business owners who lack a regular source of income. The main goal of the government is to create a unified database of unorganized workers across the country through this card, enabling them to access insurance, pension, and other social security benefits directly.

If you haven’t yet made your e-Shram Card, now is the perfect time, as new registrations have begun through a simple online process on the official portal.

Benefits of e-Shram Card Registration:

Workers joining the e-Shram Card scheme get not only an identity but also security. Through this card, ₹1000 per month will be directly transferred to the worker’s bank account. Along with this, cardholders will receive accidental insurance coverage up to ₹2 lakh and ₹2 lakh compensation in case of death.

In the future, cardholders will also be linked with pension, maternity benefits, and health schemes. Both rural and urban workers are eligible for this scheme. To register, all you need is your Aadhaar card, mobile number, and bank account details.

So far, more than 28 crore workers have joined the scheme, and the government aims to increase this number to 35 crore by 2025.

How to Register for e-Shram Card Online:

The application process for the e-Shram Card is very simple, and any eligible worker can complete it from home.

  1. Visit the official website — eshram.gov.in.
  2. Click on “Register on e-Shram”.
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number and verify it using mobile OTP.
  4. Fill in your personal details, occupation, income, and bank information correctly.
  5. Submit your application.

After submission, your e-Shram Card will be generated instantly, which you can download and keep safely. The QR code on the card is recognized everywhere and can be linked to all government welfare schemes.

Workers who are unable to register online can visit their nearest CSC (Common Service Center) to complete the registration free of cost.
