CBSE Board Exam 2026:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the final date sheet for the CBSE Board Exam (Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2026). The exams will begin on February 17, 2026.
CBSE had already announced, while declaring the 2025 board results, that the 2026 Class 10 and 12 examinations would start from February 17, 2026. The board also stated that the Class 10 examination will be conducted as per the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
Early Preparation and Release Timeline of the Date Sheet:
According to the official notice, based on the registration data of Class 9 and Class 11,
CBSE, for the first time, released a tentative date sheet for the 2026 exams on September 24, 2025 — that is 146 days before the start of the examinations. This was done to give all stakeholders — schools, students, and teachers — adequate time for preparation.

Now that all schools have submitted their List of Candidates (LOC) and CBSE has the final subject combination data, the final date sheet has been prepared for the examinations scheduled to start from February 17, 2026 — i.e., 110 days before the beginning of the exams.
Key Points Considered While Preparing the Date Sheet:
- A sufficient gap has been given between subjects commonly chosen by students to allow enough time for preparation.
- The dates of entrance examinations for Class 12 students have been taken into account.
- Efforts have been made to complete the Board exams before the entrance exams, ensuring better time management for students.
- During the evaluation process, it has been ensured that teachers of all subjects are not away from their schools for a long period simultaneously.
CBSE mentioned that while preparing the schedule, over 40,000 subject combinations were analyzed to ensure that no two subjects opted by a student have exams on the same day.
The exam timing will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Special Measures to Avoid Clash Between JEE (Main) and CBSE Exams:
To ensure that JEE (Main) and CBSE Board Examination dates do not clash, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has instructed that the registration number of Class 11 students must be entered in the JEE (Main) application form.
Therefore, all schools have been requested to provide Class 11 registration numbers to their students in time, so that they can apply for JEE (Main) without any inconvenience.
